Nomination Process and Materials

Department Chairs will be notified at the beginning of the Fall semester to submit their Rom Rhome nominations to CNS Faculty Affairs. Nominations should include the following information:

• Nominee’s name
• Name of the meeting/convention/etc. which the faculty will be attending
• The meeting’s website address (if applicable)
• Title and nature of the faculty's presentation, i.e. lecture or poster

If more than one faculty member is nominated per department, the Department Chair should ensure they rank the faculty when submitting the department's nominations. Please note, faculty who have traveled or are planning to travel prior to the deadline are still considered for the award and must follow the same awardee procedures.

Annoucement of Awardees

Faculty will be notified of their award status via email from CNS Faculty Affairs. To accept their Rom Rhome award, faculty must complete the following steps:

1. File an RTA listing the Rom Rhome award as one of the sources of funds. Complete instructions will be included in the award email.
2. Upon return from the conference, the faculty member must write a letter of appreciation to the steward of the Rom Rhome International Professional Development account, Mr. Rom P. Welborn, with a brief summary of the conference as well as their participation.
3. Upon receipt of the letter, the travel voucher will be approved. 

Timeline

Deadline to Submit Rom Rhome Applications

The deadline for Department Chairs to submit nominations to CNS Faculty Affairs for a 2022-23 Rom Rhome award is December 15, 2022.

CNS Faculty Affairs will notify faculty members of awards no later than January 15, 2023.
