Step 1: Posting Recruitment Ads
Posting to Interfolio
Department administrative staff will use Interfolio to post all hiring ads. The CNS Office for Faculty Affairs must approve your ad before it can be posted. If you do not have access to your department's Interfolio profile, please contact Jyesha Alexander.
All positions created in Interfolio are automatically posted to the University's Faculty Recruitment website, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and the Diverse Issues in Higher Education job boards.
DEI Statement
All ads must include the College's DEI statement: The College is interested in and values candidates who have experience working with diverse and underserved populations, and have demonstrated a commitment to improving the diversity, equity and inclusivity of their academic communities.
Step 2: Interviews and Department Visits
Faculty Interviews
Departments do not need pre-approval from the College to conduct interviews for any candidates whom they're considering for a professional-track faculty position, but must keep in mind departmental equity and fit. Interviews can be conducted either in-person or virtually.
Step 3: Draft Offer Letters
Draft Offer Letter Templates
Once departments have identified their top candidate, departmental administrative staff will create the draft offer letter using one of the following templates. Staff should work with their Department Chairs to ensure that all funding sources have been identified and approved prior to drafting the offer letter.
Step 4: PARs, Job Requisitions and Offer Letters
Job Requisitions
Job requisitions are required for all new faculty hires, and must be submitted and approved prior to creating the PAR. For professional track faculty members, job requisitions should be created in the Department Chair's JM supervisory organization. More information on how to create a job requisition for faculty can be found here.
Prior Approval Request (PAR)
Departmental administrative staff will create and submit the Prior Approval Request (PAR) in accordance with the draft offer letter. All non-tenured faculty assignments are approved by the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. Please send completed PARs directly to Jyesha Alexander. Official offer letters can only be sent to candidates once the PAR has been final approved.
Official Offer Letters
Departments will issue the official offer letter to the candidate once the PAR has been final approved. Accepted and signed offer letters should be sent directly to EVPP Academic Personnel Services for processing, with an electronic copy of sent to Jyesha Alexander for filing.
