Allan H. MacDonald, a professor in the Department of Physics, was one of eight UT Austin faculty chosen for Thomson Reuters' 2015 Highly Cited Researchers list.
The Reuters list, which was finalized this week, honors researchers who are in the top 1 percent most cited for their subject field and year of publication. Reuters develops the annual list by analyzing the total number of each researcher's citations.
MacDonald has worked at UT for 15 years. He is currently most interested in researching how electron interactions influence the properties of metals and semiconductors. Recent work has also focused on developing new materials for computer chips that are more energy efficient, through the South West Academy of Nanoelectronics consortium.Besides MacDonald, the UT Austin faculty on the list included five engineering professors, a business professor, and a psychology professor.
