Visit "Mo" and get a taste of life more than 65 millions years ago.
Dr. Wann Langston, former director of the Vertebrate Paleontology Laboratory, stands next to the
Onion Creek Mosasaur, a specimen collected from Onion Creek, just southeast of Austin, in 1934. “Mo,” as the mosasaur is sometimes called, now hangs from the ceiling in the Texas Memorial Museum's Hall of Geology and Paleontology, displayed as if it were swimming through the shallow sea that once covered much of Texas over 65 million years ago. The Vertebrate Paleontology Laboratory and the Texas Memorial Museum are part of the college’s
Texas Natural Science Center.
