Dear Students,We are just two weeks away from the beginning of fall classes, which means summer is still very much here. What has this summer been about for you?
Many of you who made the most of this unusual summer by taking some classes. For those of you in this camp, keep up the good work! You're nearly to the finish line with summer courses. Others of you have found new projects, work or causes. You are making a difference for your future and for others, which is great. Plenty of you are focusing on a big transition ahead, whether it is getting started on your education in the College of Natural Sciences or planning to finish your degree and prepare for what's next. And some of you needed and took an opportunity to get some rest.
Whatever has kept you occupied up to this point, take some time in these last days of summer to pause and reflect. Remember: you get to help define what the next academic year will be. Making this fall safe, enriching and educational will be a joint project, so I hope you will join with me and others at UT in making a Commitment to Protect Texas Together.
Best,
Dr. Vanden Bout
