New Lateral Communities Initiative

Dean Goldbart emailed college staff and supervisors to introduce the Lateral Communities initiative.

Dear CNS community,

As we continue to work in unprecedented times, I believe we have new opportunities to learn, grow, and develop together. One of my priorities as dean has been advancing our community through initiatives that provide support, training, and networking for faculty and staff. In this spirit, I am pleased to introduce a new effort that draws upon the vital resource we have in one another.

The new Lateral Communities initiative aims to support staff in learning and collaborating with others who face similar challenges and opportunities in their jobs in CNS. This summer, the first of these communities of practice will come together for professional development, learning, networking, and growth.

To launch this effort, all CNS staff and supervisors are encouraged to join me virtually for a special kickoff event on Thursday, June 25, at 3 p.m., where we will hear from internationally renowned organizational design expert Amy Kates. Please join me next Thursday for our Lateral Communities kickoff and a discussion about fostering networks of support and a widespread culture of professional development and collaboration throughout our community.
