Dear Students,
Now that we are past the mid-point of September, you are no doubt juggling a lot: class work, personal life, and maybe putting pieces in place for the future, too. Whether you are a freshman or a senior on the cusp of graduating, people around you may have already started asking the not-always-welcome question: "So what are your plans for after UT?"
Having a definitive answer to that question right now probably isn't necessary for your happily ever after. But thinking about this, even in the middle of everything else, is smart. Will you attend graduate school? The Dean's Scholars Student Association is hosting their annual Graduate Student panel on 9/30. Are you planning for a health profession? Visit with our health professions coaches. What about an entrepreneurial endeavor? Check out the Inventors Program. Whatever your path, right here in the College of Natural Sciences, there are plenty of people here to help. Reach out and take advantage.
Most immediately, if an internship or job is in your plans, there are employers who want to meet with you at next week's Virtual Career Fair. Make time to connect with those in the wider world who may be part of your next chapter. It is worth putting on the list of things you are juggling at the start of this year. And don't forget, help abounds.
Best,
Dr. Vanden Bout
