Allen was one of 21 students selected to be a Dean’s Honored Graduate, which is the highest honor awarded to graduating seniors in the College of Natural Sciences. Honorees exhibit excellence in the classroom as well as substantial achievement in scientific research, an independent intellectual pursuit, or exceptional service and leadership to the college and university.
She graduated with an honors degree in Astronomy and was recognized for her scholastic achievement and leadership activities, as well as research that resulted in an honors thesis, “Signal-to-Noise Cutoffs for Simulations in the Data Analysis System for HETDEX,” performed under the direction of Professor Karl Gebhardt.
She plans to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
