Dear Students,

You've made it to the last day of class this semester! For many classes that means filling out CIS sheets and maybe even enjoying some free food, but for a lot of courses in CNS that means squeezing in one last exam. Here are some words of wisdom to carry you through today and finals:

  • Don't underestimate the power of sleep. Yes, studying is important, but pulling all-nighters actually hurts your ability to perform at your peak on the test: neurons don't fire optimally, and the body's organ systems are not in sync. So, if doing as well as possible on the test is your goal, look beyond just the content and get some sleep, too.
  • Take care of yourself. In times of high stress (#CNSfinals) healthy habits are usually the first to go. Remember to take a walk as a study break, get some fresh air, and eat your veggies.
  • Have faith in yourself. The ability to press on in the face of daunting tasks (#CNSfinals) is what sets you apart from so many others…yes, you. You have what it takes. Just keep the faith, and put one foot in front of the other.

Work hard. Help each other follow the three pieces of advice above. Get some sleep. Ace your finals.

Best,
Dr. Vanden Bout

P.S. If you have any online Course Instructor Surveys, be sure to fill them out. We really do care about the results.
