Leslie Russell's designs are inspired by: science fiction literature, hip-hop music, old Hollywood glamor, fashion designers Coco Chanel and Vivienne Westwood, and whatever else her omnivorous imagination has absorbed over the past twenty-or-so years.
Austin native Leslie Russell, a senior apparel and design major in the School of Human Ecology, was awarded the prize for best collection at the 2010 High Voltage Fashion Show.
Russell's designs, which are highlighted in the slideshow below, were inspired by: science fiction literature, hip-hop music, old Hollywood glamor, fashion designers Coco Chanel and Vivienne Westwood, and whatever else Russell's omnivorous imagination vacuumed up.
