The National Science Foundation (NSF) announced that 43 University of Texas at Austin students, including 14 in the College of Natural Sciences, will receive prestigious Graduate Research Fellowships.
Among CNS students, four undergraduate students and 10 graduate students received the award.
The fellowship supports students with outstanding potential to excel in the areas of science, technology, mathematics and engineering, by granting them three years of funding, consisting of $12,000 per year for the cost of education and a $34,000 stipend for research that leads to a master's or doctoral degree. The application process is open to first-year graduate students and senior undergraduate students who intend to go to graduate school.
UT Austin had 43 fellows this year, with the 14 recipients from the College of Natural Sciences representing areas from marine science and physics to chemistry and mathematics.
