The BEACON Center announces the second annual how-to workshop on STEM Public Engagement! The workshop will focus on 1) how to connect with and frame your message for different audiences, and 2) how to engage effectively with public policy and policy makers. This is an incredibly important time for scientists to engage politically. The workshop welcomes Texas State Representative Donna Howard, nurse and former health educator, and Stephanie Chiarello Noppenberg, senior policy analyst, community educator, and improv comedian.
Please SIGN UP HERE if you are interested in participating. No previous experience is necessary! Registration closes on January 15th, and space is limited.
The one-day workshop will take place on the UT Austin campus, exact location to be determined. Video conferencing will be available. Please plan to attend the entire day, as the afternoon sessions will build on the morning.
Please contact Tessa Solomon-Lane with questions or for more information. Check out this Guide Page for information about last year's workshop. Resources will be added shortly for the upcoming workshop.
