Inclusive Classrooms Workshop - Session 1
Monday, August 21, 2017, 12:00pm - 01:45pm

The College of Natural Sciences will pilot an Inclusive Classroom workshop for graduate students, which will include one session on Monday, August 21 and one on Thursday, August 24, from noon-1:45pm each day. Participants should plan to complete both sessions.

Graduate students who participate in this workshop will:

  • Learn about respectful and inclusive classroom environments that they can expect as students.
  • Understand expectations for maintaining respectful, inclusive classes and labs for a multicultural student body when serving as Teaching Assistants.
  • Learn how to respond or seek appropriate recourse if they find themselves in a classroom or lab in which inclusivity standards are not met.

Interested students will be asked to RSVP with their intention to attend. (Watch the cns-gradstudents or cns-postdocs email lists for the RSVP link.) The number of participants may be limited for this pilot workshop.
